Craft storage sorted…..

So the little man has loads of art things, pens, pencils,  paints, stamps, stickers the list is endless. We had them stored all over his room in different boxes/bags. I wanted them all in one place looking neat and out the way ( you can never trust a 4 year old with pens and wallpaper)

I was recently given some sweet pots that my mum had used at her wedding,  I instantly knew they would make great storage containers, and better still the art storage solution would be fixed. I am really pleased with how it looks and it gave me a great reason to sort though all his bits and have a clear out.

How do you store your littles one toys/art bits?

picnic & play

Today we arranged a family picnic and play session at the local Country park, myself, two sisters ( 7 kids between us) and nanny &grandad all pack a bring and share lunch and headed to the park for noon. We managed to get a couple of benches among the green to all fit around and eat. All the food was laid out and we helped ourselves. While we were eating lots of inflatable were being put up and the kids really wanted to go on them. Off I trot to find out a price, (being unexpected we didn’t have a lot of money on us) we work out that we could  let the kids choose one inflatable each and have a turn. We explained to the kids that they could have a turn on one but we were going in the play park first.

We found a shaded spot under a big tree to lay out the blankets and took it in turns to watch the kids  ( 5 adults watching 7 kids and we were all slightly stressed after it) Little mans favourite thing to play on is the “big dark roundy slide” he just goes on it over and over and never gets bored.  The day was soon  coming to an end so we rallied all the kids up and told them to go choose the “bouncy” they wanted to play on. Little man choose the big inflatable slide (no surprise there) along with a few of his cousins.  He got 4 turns on it and loved the next more than the last, he had a blast wizzing down.

Before heading home we stopped at the cafe and all got icecream. It was a lovely family day out, the weather was fantastic,  and the kids had a blast.

Family fun in the kichen.

The Other half had to work all of the bank holiday weekend so getting out and about with the boys as a family just did not happen. We decided to do some fun things at home with little man. We popped to the local shop to stock up on food supplies to make our own home made pizzas (something that little man has never done). He choose his own base and toppings putting them all in the basket as we walked around.

Once home the fun began, we set up all the toppings along the breakfast bar and little man got started. He was so precise in placing each and every topping and took great care in placing them on the base. When he was finished the pizza went in the oven for 10-12 mins so not that long for him to wait. He was constantly checking and asking if it was nearly done. Soon the time came to plate up and eat. Little man was so proud of his little creation and enjoyed every bite.

What fun things to you like to do at home with the little ones?

Sunday stroll

Little man was in desperate need of some fresh air and a good old fashion run about this morning, so off we went to the local country park with his new bike and the dog too see wot we could find.

The weather was bright, dry and cold (my perfect winters day.) It was quite busy with children playing in the play area, bird watchers, dog walkers and families generally making the most of the weather.

We made our way up one of the many footpaths to see where it would take us…

Little man loved his bike, I was a little concerned with the nosie it makes and worried we were disturbing others  on there peaceful Sundays walks.

We did full circle on the footpath and ended up where we started. We then headed in the direction of the marshes which has a great educational trail to follow.

Learning about different rock types, plants, wildlife and there habitat. When little man is a bit older its a great place for him to learn while having fun.

We was not out long, but enough to feel the benefit of the fresh air.

New directions

Morning my lovelys

I have been thinking for a while now that i would like to take my blog to a more personal level. As you are all aware i love to craft and fit this around my family and work life ( which is soon to be growing.) I have decided to add parts of my family life to the blog, what me and little man get up too, life with a new baby and how i will still fit my love for crafting in.

I hope that you all like the direction that this blog will take and continue on my journey with me.

Entertaining a little one….

I try and get my little man involved in all types of crafts. Sometimes they keep him occupied for some time, others only 5 mins. I thought that I would do a quick post of what we have been upto today.

1st we decorated gingerbread men. He really enjoyed doing these, he made one for himself and one for Daddy (as he had to go into work today).

He enjoyed eating it the most ;0)

Little man then wanted to make daddy a picture to go with his gingerbread so all the art and craft things came out and a great big lovely mess was created.
