I am 4 months

Its going so fast…. I can’t believe that the small one is already 4 months old. Here is his latest update.

I love doing his monthly photo updates,  how are you recording your little ones milestones?

A busy mums must haves #4 {lazy days at home}

When we spend a lazy day at home I make no effort what so ever and love it. As long as I clean and comfortable I’m ok.

My goto items for a lazy day are a vest top, comfy pants/pj bottoms and either slippers or bare feet. My hair is tie up high on my head out the way.  I don’t get many lazy days at home now but when they come round I love them.

Do you like a lazy day?

A busy mums must haves #3 {the little mans summer essentials}

The little man is 4 and all he wants to do this summer is what any little boy wants to do…. play :0) He loves the park and day trips out, if we are spending the day at home he is in his element out in the garden spending time in and out of the padding pool, sliding down the slide or jumping on the trampoline.

When getting a little boy dressed in the morning you dont really have to think of much, shorts and t-shirts a hat on his head and a layer of suncream and his good to go. Day trips out you add a bag and water bottle and the little man is set for his adventure.

Here is my little mans summer essentials

What are your little ones essential summer items?

The dreaded doctor’s trip.

Thank goodness thats over, well at least till his 1. We have just got back from a visit to the doctor’s. … the small one has just had his 16 week jabs.  We both hate them, the poor wee man howls in pain when the needles go in and I just hold he close and stroke his face trying to calm him down, only to have the process repeated on the other leg. He has been the same on his 8 and 12 week too.

The crying didn’t stop today until I got him home and he finally fell asleep on me sobbing. I know they are for his benefit, but all he understands is they hurt and mummy didn’t stop it. It makes me feel terrible when he is looking it my eyes crying. Can a child of his age “think” and “question” why his mummy has let that happen?

His now sound asleep, and when he wakes the cuddles are waiting.

picnic & play

Today we arranged a family picnic and play session at the local Country park, myself, two sisters ( 7 kids between us) and nanny &grandad all pack a bring and share lunch and headed to the park for noon. We managed to get a couple of benches among the green to all fit around and eat. All the food was laid out and we helped ourselves. While we were eating lots of inflatable were being put up and the kids really wanted to go on them. Off I trot to find out a price, (being unexpected we didn’t have a lot of money on us) we work out that we could  let the kids choose one inflatable each and have a turn. We explained to the kids that they could have a turn on one but we were going in the play park first.

We found a shaded spot under a big tree to lay out the blankets and took it in turns to watch the kids  ( 5 adults watching 7 kids and we were all slightly stressed after it) Little mans favourite thing to play on is the “big dark roundy slide” he just goes on it over and over and never gets bored.  The day was soon  coming to an end so we rallied all the kids up and told them to go choose the “bouncy” they wanted to play on. Little man choose the big inflatable slide (no surprise there) along with a few of his cousins.  He got 4 turns on it and loved the next more than the last, he had a blast wizzing down.

Before heading home we stopped at the cafe and all got icecream. It was a lovely family day out, the weather was fantastic,  and the kids had a blast.

A busy mum’s must haves #2 {summer hair}

I have long hair that I wear up 99% of the time, but I do like to style my hair. Recently I have been loving “buns” and “braids”

Any style bun will do messy, sock, ballerina or braided. Most times I will then add a elastic headband to keep it looking nice and neat of my face.

I am trying really hard to master the different braids (I would really love to be able to do a french braid in my own hair) so far I can do a 3 strand, fishtail and side braid. I also twist and pin the front section of hair to keep it away from my face.

If i get time I love to style my hair different each day. Here are some of my top summer styles that I am currently loving 💕

How do you like to wear you hair?
